SMDT Spring Holiday Camp

Living in Harmony

April 20 - 24, 2026

At a Glance

This spring, our favorite camp is back! We have an exciting journey to explore the question: “What do we need to live in harmony?”
We address this question both in the social context, teaching kids collaboration, and conflict management, and in the natural context.

Through cultural games, festivals, workshops and lots of fun, we’ll celebrate the richness of human diversity and acceptance and we’ll discover how nature and communities thrive together and what it means to live in harmony with the world around us.

Example Week:

Day 1 - Exploring the cultural diversity of Zurich at the Sechaelaueten festival.

Day 2 - Nature and the City: Guided tour of Zurich, from the perspective of the creatures that live in the city!

Day 3 - Permaculture for harmony, learning about permaculture as a tool for harmony through a workshop and visit to a permaculture garden

Day 4 - All about bees! Bees and humans live in Harmony - how do we do it? Visit to a Bee Apiary.

Day 5 - Hackathon - we dive into design thinking skills with a special project around living in Harmony.

Please note, the final schedule is only published a week or two before so that we can adapt to weather changes, and the specific needs of the children in our group.

What would we do?

We will focus on the question, “What do we need to live in harmony?”

We will explore the importance of cultural diversity and acceptance through cultural games, a trip to the farmers market, and creating street art.

We will then learn about biodiversity through a private tour of Wildnis Park and how both culture and biodiversity are important and intertwined for living in harmony.

How would we do it?
